A new year has begun and I’ve spent the last couple of weeks indulging and looking back through my archives at all the beautiful work I created in 2016. None of it was done alone, I was able to work with so many wonderful people. I adore photographing people and the majority of my work involves meeting someone new, getting to know them a little and capturing them the way I see them. Overwhelmingly I have a collection of people laughing, smiling with their eyes, and looking at each other the way only two best friends can.

I spent a lot more time outdoors this past year and a big part was due to living in Squamish and getting back to my love of the mountains and forests. I was also lucky enough to travel with my cousin to Norway to meet family and ski (!!!) and then on to Lisbon for some sunshine. I worked on multiple collaborations with talented hair and makeup artists (talking to you The Artistry Collective!), second shot weddings with crazy-awesome local photographers, visited old friends in Banff, went hiking and camping in the Rockies, photographed insanely cute families in Calgary and Vancouver, lounged with another old friend at her cabin on Lake of the Woods, ON, and visited Galiano Island a few times for weddings. I cheered on my man at bike races here and in Italy, explored the Italian countryside by bike, ate ALL THE THINGS Italy had to offer me (cheese, truffles, pasta, etc) and enjoyed the company of my favourite human Colin.

I worked with local photographers and hair and makeup artists to put on our third Downtown East Side Women’s Portrait session in Vancouver and brightened the day of nearly 30 women living in that area. I launched a new website dedicated to portraits, headshots and travel photography and am about to unveil a new wedding website! And of course, met and photographed lots of amazing couples and families. The wonderful people that photography brings into my life make all this work worth it and I typically stay in touch with them after our shoots are done. Thank you to everyone I had in front of my camera this year and I hope that 2017 will be jam-packed full of more good food, laughter and adventures  🙂

And for all you newly engaged couples, awesome families, and people in need or new headshots or creative portraits, let’s chat!
